Le tout en collaboration avec des guides et personalités de cette région.
Mosaikashop Nomad in collaboration with professor Enzo Tinarelli from the Acadamy of Fine Arts of Carrara is proud to propose to you a mosaic workshop in Pontremoli from July 8 to the 15th 2018, along with a tour of the region: Pontremoli, Portovenere of the 5 Terre, Lungomare, (the island of Palmaria or other local villages). Carrara (famous for their marble quarries), Pietrasanta in Versilia. All in collaboration with the locals of the regions as our private guides.

Enzo proposes a stay high on beauty and emotions, in the region he has adopted 20 years ago situated in the Tuscany region and stepping onto the Liguria! The workshop and your stay will take place in the Seminary of Pontremoli, a charming medieval village (situated on an island between the rivers) perched onto a mountain.

The workshop with Enzo Tinarelli:
De la matière à la mosaïque : réalisation d’une mosaïque de marbre et smalti en méthode directe sur mortier et support rigide.
Enzo vous propose un stage d’une durée de 27 heures pour la réalisation d’une mosaïque en pose directe sur mortier frais en utilisant des tesselles de marbre, taillées avec la marteline et tranchet, avec insertion de smalti ou pâtes de verre. Vous travaillerez les andamenti et la méthode de la composition picturale pour réaliser un tableau d’environ 20X30cm. Cette mosaïque sera de votre création personnelle et vous serez guidé par Tinarelli pour qu’elle soit poétique. Le but de ce stage est de chercher à entrer dans l’esprit tactile et expressif de cet art strictement lié à la matière et au geste. L’homme y devient le centre de ce rapport de transformation et de transmission.
L’action créatrice est conduite par la technique qui entre en harmonie avec le corps et l’esprit. La répétition des mêmes gestes ‘apparents’ ou l’intention expressive de chacun rend différente chaque tesselle, chaque mosaïque, et chaque réalisation…
L’expérience de ce stage est surtout sur le choix des matériaux principalement naturels : marbre, travertin, granit, pierres dures, ainsi que la terre cuite, émaillée, grès, céramique….
Le cours est sur l’utilisation de la marteline et tranchet, pose directe sur mortier à la méthode ancienne, ce qui permet de donner aux tesselles l’inclination et la disposition désirées. Le résultat fait vibrer la surface de la mosaïque sans obligations de fonction.
From Matter to Mosaic: You will make a mosaic using marble and smalti the direct method using a ciment mortar directly onto a permanent surface.
The workshop will be of 27 hours where you will directly insert the tesserae of marble and smalti on the fresh mortar the direct method. The tesserae will be cut using the hammer and hardy. You will learn the art of the andamenti to realise a pictoral composition of 20X30cm aprox. The work will be based on your personal creation and Tinarelli will guide you through it to make it poetic. The goal of this workshop is to enter in the tactile and expressive spirit of this art so you feel the feel the matter and the gesture. The person becomes the center of this form of transformation and transmission.
The creative act is driven by the technique which enters in harmony with the body and the spirit. The repetition of the same apparent gestures or the expressive intention of each makes that each tesserae is different, each mosaic, each realisation…
The true experience of this workshop is in the choice of material, prinipally natural: marble, travertine, granite, hard stones, as well as terracotta, enamaled, ceramics, smalti
The workshop is also on the use of the hammer and hardy, the direct method on a ciment mortar which is an ancient method which allows the tesseerae to be inclined to the desired disposition. The final result makes that the mosaic surface vibrates to be a decorative object.

Dimanche le 8 juillet, arrivée des participants au Séminaire de Pontremoli, installation et repos dans votre chambre. Selon votre arrivée, détente autour d’un repas du matin ou du midi. Le premier soir à 19h30 repas* avec le groupe dans un restaurant du village de Pontremoli pour la soirée de bienvenue (*ce repas est inclus)
Sunday July 8. The participants arrive at the Seminary of Pontremoli where you will have a time to rest and settle in you room. According to your arrival time we will relax with a meal together in the morning or for lunch. The evening meal will be at 7:30pm* with the group in the restaurant of the village of Pontremoli for the meet and greet evening. (*this meal is included in the price)

9h-13h Début du stage dans l’atelier du Séminaire.
Pause midi*: repas au Séminaire
14h30-17h le stage de mosaïque se poursuit
Soirée libre pour visiter les rues médiévales pittoresques, en compagnie de Enzo et Suzanne et/ou avec les personnages célèbres du village. Le repas du soir est non inclus dans le prix.

Break for lunch*: meal in the Seminary
2:30pm – 5pm the workshop continues
Free evening to stroll through the pictoresque medeval streets in company of Enzo and Suzanne and or the famous personalities from the village. The evening meal is not included in the price.

Afternoon: Excursion 1: Guided tour of the monuments of Pontremoli and certain historical curiousities, artist studios. An afternoon visiting the monuments of Pontremoli: Museo Statue Steli, Duomo, Convento, artist studios and other curiousites in this midlevel town. Evening meal not included.

Départ en train à 8h de Pontremoli après le petit déjeuner, visite de Portovenere, (ville fameuse des 5 Terres), Lungomare, église de San Giorgio, village, (éventuellement une petite excursion en barque à l’isola Palmaria ou en bateau pour d’autres petits villages voisins de la côte de la Ligurie). Midi, pour le repas du midi le Séminaire vous proposera un sac à lunch à la demande. ou libre sur place. Retour à Pontremoli en train nous rentrons l’après-midi pour poursuivre le cours de mosaïque si vous voulez!
Après-midi 15h-18h le stage se poursuit.

Morning: Excursion #2
We leave by train at 8am from Pontremoli after breakfast, visit of Portovenere, (town famoulsly known for its 5 Terres), Lungomare, the church of San Giorgio, the village, (eventually a short excursion by boat to the island of Palmaria or we will take the boat to other small villages near the coast of Liguria). Noon, the Seminary will propose to make you a lunch to take with you upon request. Or you can have your lunch on location. We return to Pontremoli by train and we return in the afternoon to continue the mosaic workshop if you wish!
Afternoon from 3pm – 6pm the workshop continues.
Free time in the evening in Pontremoli.

Quick visit to the historical center of Carrara and to the Gallery of Tinerelli to see his splendide floor mosaic rug.
Visites d’atelier de sculptures Studi Michaelangelo à Carrara.
A visit to the sculpture Studio of Michaelangelo in Carrara.
Visite ensuite des carrières de marbre. Repas de midi au fameux restaurant étoilé du guide Michelin da Venanzio à Colonnata.
Then a visit to the marble quarries. Lunch will take place in the famous Michelin stared restaurant da Venansio in Colonnata.
L’après-midi et soirée:
Visite à Pietrasanta, ville d’art, d’ateliers privés d’artistes, galeries d’arts, musée de la ville S. Agostino au centre de la place et repas dans une trattoria locale en Versilia. Retour le soir à Pontremoli en véhicule.
Afternoon and evening:
A visit to Pietrasanta, city of art, of private artist studios, art galleries, the museum of the city of Saint Agostino in the heart of the center. We finish with a meal in a local trattoria in Versilia. Return in the evening to Pontremoli by car.

Departure by train from Pontremoli after breakfast, visit to Portovenere, (city famous for it 5 Terre), Lungomare, church of San Giorgio, village, (eventually a small excursion by boat to the island of Palmaria or by boat to other neighboring small villages on the coast of Liguria). Noon, lunch box or you can get one on location. We go back in the afternoon to continue the mosaic workshop.

Depending on the number of participants we will do our visits by train or by car or minivan from Pontremoli towards the destination and same for returning to the Seminary.
Notes et détails des lunchs et dîners:
Tous les jours, les petits déjeuners et les repas du midi pris au séminaire sont inclus dans le prix du stage (et éventuellement sur demande, à apporter les jours d’excursion lève-tôt) Les repas du soirs sont libres, mais il y aura l’option de manger au Séminaire (autour de 15 euros par personne même prix pour les conjoints) et vous pourrez décider le jour même si vous mangez au séminaire ou non.

Everyday, breakfasts and lunches taken in the Seminary are included in the price of the workshop (and eventually by request take out lunches for the early excursions) The evening meals are not included, but you will have the option to eat at the Seminary if you wish the cost being aproximately 15 Euros per person, same price for partners) and you can decide on the same day if you want to eat at the Seminary or not.
